Akokwa Community Bank was Licenced to carry on Community Banking business on the 24th of January, 2002.

Akokwa Microfinance Bank Ltd was Licenced to operate as a Microfinance Bank Ltd on the 6th December, 2007 (Conversion from Community to Microfinance Bank).

Great Achievement Award Certificate was presented to the bank by the Ideato Culture and Development Association, (I.C.D.A.) on 31st May, 2008.
